Today we visited the ruins at Selinunte and the island of Mozia just off of the coast of Marsala.
Selinunte was beautiful and has mostly been untouched, theres lots of history there, but too much to go into here.
It took three hours to cross Sicilia to get to Marsala. Again with the bus! But once we got there the island we visited was well worth it.
To get to Mozia we needed to take a ferry. There was our group plus around 25 primary school students. They turned out to be a lot of fun. I have some new italian buddies - Claudio, Paolo, Giorgio, Fabio and Danillo (no kidding) There were all very sweet, all around 9 years old, and it happend to be the first time any of them had see ocean as they come from a small village in the heart of Sicily. We started singing the Aussi Aussi Aussi song which they loved, they started to hum the guitar riff from Seven Nation Army by the White Stripes - thats the kids of today I guess. The others from our group that were on the ferry didnt know the song or the band, but I knew it straight away. It was great
Our guide was named Regina, part English, part French, part German and a little Italian thrown in for good measure. She gave us the in depth, but really fun, version of the history of the island and took us on a tour of the museum and the island grounds.
I am not able to spend much time on here tonight so I apologise for the spelling mistakes in advance and I will upload more pics ASAP.
Sleep tight

Mum Funny - I thought your spelling had improved! I knew that bus would be a bother - not so much room for tall people. Sounds like you had a lovely day - you do make friends wherever you go, don't you? Will love to see the pics. MWA.
