Now let me preface this entry with - Yes I know its another bloody ruin site, but you need to see them as I have.
Today was nice though. The ruin site at Segesta was very easy to navigate, and they are beautifully looked after. The best part were the amazing views from the top temple looking down into the valley below. Very cool.
Check out the picture of me and a lady named Angie, there has been no trick photography used here. We got a lot of attention from our group and all of the others around us. It had us in stitches.
From there we had lunch at another agriturismo place very close by. A total of 6 courses and all totally delicious! I met the little nonna that made everything, and I mean everything. She was 5 foot nothing and I gave her a kiss to say thank you and invited her to come home with me and be my second nonna. I think she almost accepted until her husband came over thinking I was trying to serenade her.
From there we travelled an hour or so to Palermo, the largest city on the island of Sicily. We are here a couple of nights which is nice to be able to settle in for a bit. Tonight we all went our own ways to have some free time. I have hit my head pretty hard (again! Fourth time and counting - no comments from the crowd on that point please!) so Im not up to running around a busy city at the moment. I bought some tea from the local supermercato and may have an early night too.
Tomorrow we head into the centro storica of Palermo to explore with a local guide, the rest Im not too sure at the moment.
Act tow of my European Vacation is just around the corner, this means I am almost at the half way point too. Three weeks on my own to look forward too starting in Paris.
Keep the comments coming, I really appreciate it.
Sleep tight
