First real blog post, so lets get our bearings straight and start off as we mean to go on.... The beer in Germany is unbeleivable! I've only tried a few but the flavour of this stuff cannot be described, you simply must come here and drink it. I highly recommend the Berliner, beautiful beer.

It feels like I havn't stopped since I got here! Arrived at the airport, only to find that Maria isn't. "Great" I though, first few minutes in Germany and what little plan I had has failed.. Luckily she showed up eventually :D We spent that night at a student house with some great people. Had a good laugh with them and had my first taste of the marvelous German beer!

Maria and I spent the rest of the next day travelling round Berlin, picking up some items I hadn't brought with me and sitting in the cafe's, enjoying good weather and the interesting architecture. Took some pics, I'll upload em later.

The day after involved a stupidly early start... 6:00..... That time should be banned. It was obscene, getting up that early just to catch a train! But at least it took us to Leipzig where the busking is remarkably good.

I took 40 quid in a few hours of work, met some amazing girls and a man called Hugo.... He's German born and been busking for 2 years, hes got the coolest setup.. He has a motorhome, a small bike and a trailer. all his gear is on the back of the trailer including a parasol to keep the sun and rain off, coffee cup holder, acoustic guitar, bass drum with a tamberine attached, small amp and microphone. It looks fantastic! Great guy, really enjoyed talking to him :D

Last thing, this weeked Machern hosts the Highland Games Festival. Its weird, its a cross between Germany and Scotland. Its full of crazy people tossing cabers, running with logs and throwing things with pitch forks.. I think it confirms my belief that the Scottish are mental b******s. Great atmosphere, even if some of the live music leaves a lot to be desired, there are the odd few that are incredible.
