Well, apolagese (if thats how you spell it) for not updating the past few weeks.
We arrived in Sydney at the begining of December and swiftly discovered the price of hostels are steeper here than elsewhere. We booked into some crappy chinese one, which werent aware of until after paying the money, not that its a problem, just that every person there bar us had slitty eyes and were 5ft tall. Stayed in a dorm of 8 beds, which in itself wasnt bad, it was the hostel itself which was pretty dirty and had a shed load of stairs to get around as had small floors but many of them. On the plus side they offered a constant supply of free rice, which was fitting being an official hostel for vietnamese and asian backpackers + jon and hannah :-)
Hostel was in Kings cross area, which in sydney, is the red light district, drug land and home to every alcoholic from here back to england. As you can picture the area, we didnt stick around for long. Enough time however, to spend my birthday in such a pleasurable area. We went for a meal and drinks in a different part of the city, coinsidently this is how we spent most of our time, in other parts of the city and not where we were staying.
After 5 nights in this amazing suburb, we managed to find a long term place across town, where we will stay for a minumum of 4 weeks. After this we then pay by the week so are free to move on if we so choose
