Day 7

We went sightseeing today to the Piazza del Duomo. We took a taxi to avoid the infamous round-abouts and problems with parking.

It was raining again! We visited the Baptistry first, the Cathedral, and the camposanto [some kind of indoor cemetary].

And of course, we finished with the Leaning Tower. Jo got busy again and counted more steps - [210 steps, very slippery because of rain]. And if you are wondering if it leans this bad, ask me, I will tell you, [I had vertigo].

The view was nice but not anything like Florence at the Duomo.

Then, it was lunchtime, it started to rain even harder... We had to buy more cheap umbrellas as we left ours at the hotel. We had 2 museums left to visit the Sinopie and the Opera. Tired and a little cold and damp we picked up pizza and wine again and returned to the hotel.

A funny little footnote: a black African dressed in a pink tunic, popped in our face and gave us each a thinggy. Jo received a turtle and I an elephant [red]. He wished us both good luck and lots of good health. Both surprised, we then saw a police woman chasing him up the street. We are still wondering.....
