Day 7
Today was quite an eventful day. I ate breakfast with Grandma and Grandpa Nate because the Gonzales' were at Josh's ROTC meeting. Grandpa accidentally made "fizzy" pancakes, they were interesting. When they got back Josh, Grandpa Nate and Me went to a place called Red Butte Gardens that had trails all around the foothills. 80 year old Grandpa Nate kept up extremely well with Josh and me, he is really awesome and has lots of stories from wars and just about his life, apparently seeing Josh and me go off the trails and "scurry" up the rock faces reminded him of his kids when they were young. One of the trails ended in an old quarry house that the roof was no longer on. I climbed on to of the house to get a really awesome view of the city below. The trails lasted for about two miles and went through all different types of terrain. This thin dry air is hard to get used to, I ran up one of the trails and almost passed out when I stopped. We walked through the actual gardens when we got back to the visitors center and I got a lot of really cool flower pictures for mi madre. On the way back to the house I was absolutely starving so we stopped at this really cool place called the Training Table. It specialized in unique burgers and there were no waiters. Telephone at each table connected to the kitchen and you told them what you want then a light on the phone lights up and buzzes when its ready so you go pick it up. Got back home and turned right around and drove to Westminster College with the Gonzales family so Josh can see it (ROTC would give him a full ride including housing food and a pension if he goes there). It was a nice small college. That took a few hours and when we got back they wanted to eat dinner even though I was quite full so grandma made some Korean dish that was pretty good. After dinner Josh and I somehow navigated ourselves across town to this outdoor mall called the Gateway. Went to the Apple store to see if they could fix my phone and they almost replaced it after about two hours of waiting but it is six months out of warranty... I was just hoping they could tell me something I could do but I was wrong. Stopped at a chocolate shop and split a peanut butter bucket (like a massive home made Reeses cup that was very good). Wandered around the shops for a while trying to teach Josh the basics of fashion because he didn't trust his own judgment of clothes. Then met Bryan, Bonnie, Aunt Valerie, and MASSIVE Uncle Tane (they own the used car dealership and Tane is a giant), at the movie theater there to see UP in 3D. It was the most awesome movie theater I've ever been in with a pizza hut inside, TV's and touch screen computers everywhere, a wi-fi corner, reclining seats, and the most interesting thing of all was when you bought your ticket the man at the counter would turn the screen of his computer around and you touch whichever seat you want and it is reserved for you. All of this crazy stuff and tickets were still cheaper than GA. Anyway, UP was the best movie I have seen in a very very long time.
Food
