Its Friday the 13th and with Peter resting after the rigours of Cape Argus, Norman and John set out for a hard day's training from Bonnington (St Rumwold's Church) across the Marsh to Dymchurch. Sadly no time to stop at the little bakery on the roundabout for a jumbo sausage roll (as Michelin say: "well worth the detour" - they really do melt in the mouth). On to the sea wall, where an obliging passer-by took the picture, and then the gruelling ride through Greatstone, Littlestone and eventually to The Pilot at Dungeness, where we were joined by Christine C and Lorna T for cod, chips and mushy peas.
As Christine and Lorna returned in the comfort of their cars, it was back in the saddle for us to New Romney, narrowly avoiding a pile of bricks falling off a lorry, and then back to the peaceful lanes of the Marsh to St Rumwolds.
Norman will be making minor adjustments to his sitting arrangements before our outing with the group leader next Wednesday.
