The windy way from West Hythe to Dungeness and back
The promise of the flattest ride possible resulted in full attendance (apart from Judith!) for a 32 mile ride for fish and chips (lovely) at the Pilot Inn. Whizzing across the Marsh along Cycle Route 2 the tail wind was forgotten! Down Hope Lane, then Church Lane New Romney, the group emerged into Dunes Road, Greatstone, after narrowly missing the smallest train in the world by 5 minutes, slightly sanded. What a long way it is along Coast Drive! But the lunch made it all worthwhile.
On the return we remembered the wind - it was a relentless Easterly head wind that sapped all energy and enthusiasm. Nevertheless, we all returned to scones, cream, jam and tea to cycle another day.
