Thurs.24th Sept.Last night on TV they forecast quite a good day so on the strength of that we decided to go to the Dandenong's and visit gardens. This area has 5 of the best gardens in Aus.At 11.30 before we had seen anything except some birds at a picnic stop the rain started and we drove to SkyHigh Mt. Dandenonglookout to have our lunch and feast our eyes on what the brochure describes as ' Spectacular by day, stunning by night" as we ate the mist rolled in, the rain lashed down and the views disappeared well any thing more than 5 mtrs away disappeared. When we could see 10 mtrs we decided to make a dash for the car, abandon the gardens and go back to the house of course as soon as we got off the mountain the day turned out to be sunny and 17 degrees, it was 9 degrees higher up.I suppose that's why they have these stunning gardens it rains so much.Tomorrow we shall try again but to a specific event the Tesselaar Tulip Festival.Friday is seniors day when all seniors get a free coffee I hope they do tea as well.Like most seniors we will travel miles for a free cuppa.
