We arrived in Oxford after a flight from Frankfurt to London and then a bus from London to Oxford. We hailed a taxi to our hotel. Again, it looked much nicer on the website but it would be for only one night. We arranged for Jennifer to move her luggage into her dorm room and then we set off for sightseeing and shopping.
Oxford is a beautiful city with a lot of history. Jen's college is amazing! We ate lunch at Checquers Pub and walked around the city. The weather didn't cooperate with us - the sun would come out for a little while, then it would downpour rain! The temperature was quite chilly, too. In the late afternoon, we stopped in to a restaurant for a Cream Tea which was a pot of tea and scones with clotted cream and jam.
We were soaking wet so we headed back to our inn and tried to dry off before heading out to a local pub for a half pint and dinner. We were still pretty full from our Cream Tea, so we asked the bar keep what was good to share and he suggested a pie. We ordered the Steak and Guiness Pie and finished it with Sticky Toffee Pudding. We walked back to our inn and I packed for my flight back home.
The next morning, Jennifer and I took the bus back to the airport where we said our good-byes. It was a fun 2 weeks!!!
