Ahh, today was a very long day, but I feel much better knowing that our plansbook for Carlsberg is complete. All we have to do now is present and I will not be presenting for oet our group, so technically I am done. The book looks great and our ads are very good, the creative team did an awesome job I cannot wait to show you all when I get it. They won't give us copies here, they are going to wait and make copies when we get back to the states and mail to us because it is so expensive here. On that note, everything here is exoensive! When I heard that one of our dollars would equal to over 5 of theirs I was like this is going to be great, but no can do, it is very expenzsive here to live! For example, we just went to the 7 eleven to get chocolate milk, yes it was milk, I know we are pitiful but they have it in these huge juice boxes and it is so good. Anyway, upon checkout we asked for a bag to carry all of our drinks in, and the guy told us that is would be 3 kr for a dinky paper bag with no handles. It was for putting pastries in..jeez! But then I started to think that maybe they do that because they conserve here. In the other hotel they have these special keys that tunr on and off the lights. When you go into your room you have to enter the key in this slot in order to get power, and that saves ona ton ef energy, because I know in our hotel we alwasy leave lights on, our computers plugged in and the tv on. They are also very big on recyclying here, they have a pretty good system. everyday we see people with bags and bags of bottles and stuff. In the grocery stores here ( Fakta and Irma) they have these big machines that you put in all of your bottles and it gives you money back. Had I known about this when I got here I would have been saving all the bottles from all the beer the guys drink here, itis a pretty rediculous amount and I am pretty sure I would be a millionaire when I leave. But I think it is so cool that they still use the glass bottles here, like the coke ones I always wanted when I was little because it was cool to drink out of a glass bottle, they are everywhere here that is like the only think they use. They also have plastic but it is a different plastice than ours, it is thick like glass, pretty cool. They only thing about the glass bottle thing is that when we go out to eat we only get one. They have NO refils here anywhere and I have seen a fountain machine 1 time the entire trip and there was a sign on it that said no refils...man..I am ready for free refils. Even tap water costs an arm and a leg here! I think it is like 10 kr usually, well at the cheapest and that is like 2 dollars US, crazy. So I always feel thirsty! I think of those times when I go out to eat at home and I have 2 glasses of water gone before my meal arrives, you cannot do that here or you have to pay a lot more! Anyway as far as the day goes we visited Saatchi and Saatchi advertising which was very cool, I am going to try to get links to the stuff they have been doing here...it is insane how good it is. After that we did a little shopping at the Queens Palace and then around the Stroget and then headed back to our hotel, we barely made it we were so tired. We left at 8am this morning and did not get back until 7pm. We then had dinner at La Rocca which is the restaurant in our hotel. We have yet to eat dinner there but we have been meaning too. I had pesto filled Gnocchi which was very very good, probably one of my favorite things to so far. Right now I am getting ready for bed because we vowed that we were going to be in bed before midnight, so we are trying to keep that plan. Anyway I am excited for tomorrow, well after class that is. Our new professor arrived and we start with our lectures on Lexus and the Olive Tree which I believe are not going to be too much fun. However, after that we are touring Royal Copenhagen which is the official place that the queen of Denmark gets her China. Oprah also special orders hers from there as well ( costs around 25,000) So I will buy something teeny, suposedly there is a discount section in the far back which I will make my way to..anyway..goodnight..one more week until I leave for Sweden! Love you all and miss you very much! By the way...check out all of my videos if you already haven't!
