Well, beautiful, hot and sunny here..which this morning it was cold and rainy! I slept like a baby last night, we went to bed around 10:30, which is was still light outside and we got up around 7:30.Everything is great other than not having luggage, but everything is good! This morning we woke up and went to breakfast at the hotel around 8:00.It was pretty good, they had a lot of random sliced meats, cheeses, boiled eggs, cereal and of course Danishes. After breakfast we met up with 3 girls from the host college who showed us around the city and then we went on a really cool boat tour.It lasted about an hour and we got to learn a lot of history and see a lot of sights we would not have had we not gone on the tour.We then went to lunch at a really cute restaurant which overlooked what is kind of like a "square" is in charlotte.Every corner you turn there are these little squares with like a fountain or something in the middle and then there are outside seating for the nearby restaurants. They are so cute and each has their own unique personal style and different shops and such.At lunch I had a chicken sandwich ( I know I know not to authentic, but it was the only thing on the menu that looked decent) It had some sort of Tzaziki sauce ( not sure how to spell) but it was Greek I think with cucumbers in a sour cream type sauce. The sandwich had 3 breast of chicken on it, kind of crazy, but it was really good! After lunch we dispersed and walked back to the hotel to check on our luggage, and of course still no word about it.A group of us then decided to rent bikes and tour the city which is the thing to do here.To rent from the hotel is outrageous so we were told that there were bikes all around the city we could kind of "rent" for 20 kr ( 4 bucks US), so we went out and searched for those.Well we only found one, because everyone loves bikes there. My reasoning the lack of bikes is due to the fact of how they rent them out.each bike is attached to a bike rack and it will only release when 20 Kr which is a coin is inserted in the coin slot on the bike, which it hold there until you return it back to one of the locks. So, if you want a bike but you don't want to buy one all you have to do is stick a coin in one and ride for ever without having to return it, unless you really need the kroner back which isn't really a big deal.So I am pretty sure that a lot of these bikes are used for personal everyday use and locked up with their own lock whenever and wherever so that no one can use them.Needless to say, we never found bikes, so we just walked and toured around the city, which is amazing because you always find something new. Most of the stores here are closed today because of Constitutional day butwe did find some stores still open. The coolest thing I saw today was one of their 7 Elevens, which are on every corner.Inside they have like a bakery and they sell anything from donuts and bagels to hot dogs, which look way better than those in ours at home. They also have these digital coffee machines which have a touch screen on them where you can choose which type of coffee you want ( espresso, latte, cappuccino and tons of others ) It also has a frothier on it too so it's like a personal Starbucks. They also sell tons of ice flavors as well as strawberry banana and coffee slushees. After all that excitement we came back to the hotel to find that my luggage was found and would hopefully be here by tonight around 8:00.Unsure if both of our luggage will be here, but we are being hopefull!! So right now Whitney and I are just relaxing in our room and Kyle is passed out on our couch because his room is the size of my closet and so he can't sleep in it? Anyway, I will be back later for more! Anyway, we had the worst dinner tonight...some guy had this great idea to go to this all you can eat pizza/pasta and salad bar so we went. Long sory short the endless amount of pizza included topping of tuna, shrimp, corn, peas, and anything gross you would not want to find on a pizza. The pasta was two kinds and they were chilled pastas and the salad was wet and gross. The owners were chinese so they had no clue what we were asking when we told them we just wanted cheese. You win some, you loose some! Fun fact of the day: back in the day there was a big water shortage in Denmark so everyone had to drink beer? They were recommended to drink 10 liters of beer a day to make up for the loss of water!!
