first real sunbathing day today, hooray! It felt very nice to sleep off a bit of a sunday hangover whilst lying on maroubra beach. Me and lauren met a few friends and chilled on the sand and I've just come in from reading on the balcony whilst the sun went down. The weather has been hit and miss so far but everyone says that summer is on the way and the forecast for the week looks very good so I'm on it like a car bonnet!
Life is still all good, spending most of my time out and about with friends. Work is going very well but I already feel tired enough for a holiday! I'm suddenly very aware that I haven't stepped outside of sydney so I'm going to book myself a long weekend soon and go visit somewhere different. There are many options but i'll probably just look for a cheap deal that looks fun and sunny. Shouldn't be too hard to find! I know that my friends here are keen to take a road trip of some sort soon so I will look forward to that too. Sydney is great but there is a danger of never seeing the rest of Australia which would be rather ridic!
It was a big day for me and Lauren yesterday, after weeks of deliberation we purchased a very luxurious candle from peter alexander. I understand that this sounds like the saddest thing ever but it smells amazing and was worth the extravagent price tag. When they burn it in the shop, the smell fills the whole of the westfield shopping centre! And since we live in chinatown, it works a treat at covering the constant chinese aroma. So to celebrate this, we had a little party and invited the girls over to our appartment for drinks and nachos. And enjoying the candle of course! The night started really well but turned into a bit of a random one as me and lauren worked our way through 3 bottles of wine, without realising that they were (practically) non-alcaholic until we stepped out of the appartment. With all the wine drinking that we do I can't believe we were thick enough to not realize earlier! So to catch up, it was wine + tequillas at the bar. Dangerous! It was a lucky thing that the weather was so nice today as I was very tempted to shut the curtains and give up on life for the day. So a bit of an eventful weekend, but I'm still very pleased that we purchased that candle.
I'm now settling in for an early night as I've had too many late ones and look forward to feeling back to normal in the morning. Plenty to look forward to this week; sydney run, cinema night, friends over for dinner and hopefully a weekend of sun and bbq. Happy days:)
Love to all
