Ok, this is going to be as brief as possible. I have not been on the internet for a week, having too much fun!
Last Wednesday, me and Lauren visited Bondai Beach. Unfortunately in the rain but still it blows you away. I cannot wait to hit that in the summer! We went for coffee and cake (choc and hazlenut streudal - amaze) and got chatting to the people on the next table. Only to find out one of them (hottie) is currently in home and away, dan something, keep seeing him on shop billboards. Love it!
We are now residents of room 704 at the same hostel. Such a great group of people! German/ French/ English. We all get on really well and mostly plan to stay in Sydney long term so we'll be keeping in touch. We go out most nights, starting to explore the area but do find ourselves repeatedly at the bar downstairs.
I have registered with a few agencies and have been working everyday so far this week, which is great. I've been at a child centre, the people are lovely and friendly and the kids are realy sweet. It's really good to be working, I feel like a real citizen, but I am totally shattered! Working + hostel life doesn't exactly go together. I'm on the mission to register for teaching, it's a bit long winded but will be totally worth it. Teachers earn quite a lot here.
Lots of bonding experiences with room 704, we've been visiting some of the areas of Sydney together and we cook for each other each day. It's all fun until someone in the hostel gets their mits on your food. I promised pancakes for my crew this morning and did not like returning to the room to tell them the food had all gone. Disappointment town! I cooked for them this evening though, so I think we're over the ordeal.
Me and Lauren are super happy today because we've found somewhere to live! An appartment in the city, very close to where we are now. Ideal for transport (and shopping/ night life) around central Sydney. We'll be sharing a room, which is a way to save, but it's a very spacious appartment with en suite, wifi, fully furnished and views/ balcony. The owner is a really nice guy and has furnished it really well, tvs/ washing machines/ wifi etc. The best bit however is the massive swimming pool downstairs, gym, tennis courts, bbq area, golf courts. Cannot wait to move in!!! There is also a magic door that leads in to the closest shopping centre, yes this is for real! We're moving in on Monday, very much looking forward to a wardrobe, but going to be sad to say good bye to team 704. I know we'll keep in touch though.
