As the title suggests Brighton is to the UK what Frisco is the US. The beauty, the difference, the flamboyancy (and yes I mean "flamboyancy"), and even the coastal city aspect exist in poth places equally. To strike straight to the point of this, Brighton has the highest known Gay population in the UK, and was the "butt" of many of our jokes (yes that was spelt incorrectly on purpose). The city itself was amazingly beautiful in every aspect, from Brighton Pier to the quaint shops and stores (which were also much less expensive than london, might i add), it had the feel of an old coastal British town, which it was. The palace we visited there, the Pavilion, was also an interesting feature in of itself, with Indian architectue on the outside, and a heavily themed chinese influence on the inside, George IV, who had the palace constructed, had an interesting taste. He himself was a very indulgent, flamboyant, and sociable man, going to show that Brighton's interesting self image draws back a least a few centuries.
