Upon visiting the palace of the infamous King Henry the VIII, who was known for cutting of the heads of 5 of his 6 wives, I came to realize an important thing, even the crazy insane British nobility have a keen eye for beauty. Hampton court palace itself was something to look at, with high chimneys, large battlements, and beautiful stonework decorating every nook and cranny of the palace, but the gardens were breath taking. Each different garden had a unique flair of its own, and not to mention all the statues (which were mostly of helenistic influence so i would have been stolen by this anway), which were simply amazing. Whether it was the mushroom shaped trees in the royal garden, or the cheribs in a smaller one, it was simply stunning. A large point of dissapointment of this journey though was that the .5 acre maze that was made entriely from large bushes was not able to be accessed while I was there, and with my oddly strange love of labyrinths this was very disappointing.
