This morning we made our way to Teotihuacan . This ancient site dates back to 200 AD. The pyramid complexes were amazing to see . We got a tour guide to take us around initially. He was this old guy probs over 70 . He walked slow , talked slow and talked too much . He kept talking about numbers because they had a significance to the pyramids such as the number of steps at each . It relates to the sun and moon calendar if I remember . Anyways a couple of us were joking that we should have played a drinking game anytime he mentioned numbers . Would have been off our faces that's for sure !
There were two main pyramid complexes : Piramide del Sol (pyramid of the sun ) and Piramde de la Luna (pyramid of the moon ). I climbed up both. The pyramid of the sun was a tough climb as some of the steps were steep as .
Next stop was Puebla . This city is located about three hours from Mexico City and is famous for its stunning cathedrals and churches . Unfortunately we only had one night here and we only got in at about 5 pm that arvo . We did a quick walk around the city and I was impressed with what I saw . Beautiful buildings and a lovely atmosphere fill the streets here . Much cleaner than Mexico City . For dinner we went to the central plaza ( Zocalo ) which was filled with Christmas lights and decorations . I love how much they get into Christmas here . Everywhere is heavily decorated . I'll be sure to put some photos of this.
Of course at dinner I had to have another margarita. I threw in a good ol piña colada as well just to mix things up a bit . I still haven't had any shots of tequila yet :( I am really looking forward to my first shot though as the tequila here is going to taste AMAZING !
Next up was the Lucha Libre ! This reminded me of WWF wrestling except they wear masks and some of them are a little more on the pudgy side. Very entertaining . Had some coronas and enjoyed the well choreographed wrestling display. Highlight of the night would be the wrestler who was like four foot nothing . Literally a little munchkin wearing a tight bright pink leotard and mask. I was cheering for him though ! But being small he got his ass kicked so bad ha ha .
That concluded the night went back and crashed. Good quality day all up . Can't wait for more !
