I was woken early by the religious sounding siren. I untangled myself from my mosquito net and then just chilled outside waiting for the others to wake. We walked down our street and literally next door welcomed us in as due to the holiday continuing they had a free curry. We sat with locals enjoying a curry with think bread. The curry was spicy but went well with the bread. It was such a cool experience to be sitting and eating with the locals. Afterwards we walked down the main street in search of juice but yet again almost all places were closed. We found a place that opened for us on the beach and we enjoyed some pineapple lassies. We found a driver in a van on the way back and visited some shops hearing stories from locals about the tsunami. We went back to kind and love our hostel and paid the bill ($7 only for the night) then our driver came and drove us to Ahangama for the surfing camp. We originally arrived at La Point Garden Villa before being transferred to the Beach Villa. Both villas for stunning and so luxurious. The bedrooms were so spacious. The beach villa is positioned right on beach with a pool and perfect views. Unfortunately due to wet season the waves come right up to garden and we are unable to swim as its dangerous. We settled in and went for a walk up the street to get some lunch. The town is very small so options are limited but we were excited as we wanted to try the rotti. I had an egg rotti and a chicken kutthu which is a stirfry sort of thing with shredded rotti. It was really delicious but covered in onion once again. We walked back to the accommodation after lunch and just chilled did some reading and swimming outside in the sun. After an hour or so almost instantly dark clouds surrounded us then it poured with rain. It happened so quickly so we went inside and watched the rain through the long clean windows. We chilled inside with new guest arriving and watched a movie called chef. When the rain had finished I went outside and read my book. We had a group meeting before dinner learning about each other and all the fun adventures. We were so excited about the week it sounded amazing! In our group we had some sweds, noweigens and someone from Holland. Everyone spoke English though. Was very funny everyone kept asking you are from Australia why are you surfing in Sri Lanka..? Dinner was amazing some home wife soup followed by 6 different curries with rice. For dessert we had curd and sugar or honey. It was so nice eating dinner outside by candle light hearing the sounds of the wave. Weather was so pleasant with a nice sea breeze. Absolutely perfect!! After dinner we just hung out for a little bit before an early night to bed before 9 so we would be ready to go surfing tomorrow.
