It was a very sad day as we were leaving the Vila and saying goodbye to Dion. As every other morning we woke up and had breakfast outside over looking the water. After breakfast we went to the island near Weligama to go surfing. It was seriously the coolest thing it was just Bianca, Claire and I and three locals including Raji (surf instructor). We spent almost 3 hours in the surf with us trying but unfortunately not succeeding. We spent most of the time out back laying on the surfboard floating over the waves watching the locals surf successfully. We were joined by some of the garden Vilas residents. We Tuktuk home with Harsha driving us back to the beach Villa. The rest of the afternoon was really quiet for me I just hung by the pool just relaxing. It was a beautifully sunny day. We had been so lucky with the weather as the forecast had predicted torrential rain everyday but it had only rained two times all week. At 4pm we said goodbye to Dion and the La Point staff and guests and took a Tuktuk to Mirissa where we were staying the night. We stayed at hostel first which was close to the city centre and the beach. It was nice and run by friendly people but was very basic and the rooms so hot. We explored the town briefly getting a chocolate rotti for afternoon tea. At 7.00 pm we got picked up by our local Sri Lankan boy friends in a Tuktuk for a dinner date. We squished 5 of us plus the driver in the Tuktuk as we all sat on each other. We went to dinner close to Weligama at this small restaurant on side of road. It was a fun dinner but was difficult as the English Sri Lankan language barrier was very tricky. We enjoyed chicken kathu and enjoyed watching the chef make it. After dinner we squished in Tuktuk again driving to Weligama beach where we hung out and chatted. We got driven back to the hostel and it was sad once more as we had to say more goodbyes!
