Heading through the county's capital city we soon imaging its not a place that we want to spend too much time. Just a quick taxi ride and a wait at a bus terminal though, and we're on our way to the beach! A little over three hours on the bus and we're nearing our destination. We're heading up the hill and know we're nearby. We spot the hostel an so jump off the bus at the next stop. Say thanks to the driver and go to pick up our backpacks from under the bus. Then the bus starts to drive off...there's a lot of shouting, waving and banging on the bus. We'll put that one down as a close call!
Anyhow...Manuel Antonio...safe and sound...
If I could imagine paradise, I think this would be it! Lush rainforest coupled with idyllic beaches. Pretty impressive to say the least. Here we have eaten the local dish (casada), spotted wild toucans, iguanas and even crocodiles (on the journey down here). It's a tranquil place where it's hard not to be completely relaxed and mellow. Whilst the view from our hostel terrace is overwhelmingly beautiful. You can even see, what we think are condors, circling nearby in the morning. It's a very impressive place...and we're very impressed.
