We have just arrived in Salvador, coming from the most amazing places in Brazil. FIrst stop was a place called Puerto Seguro, a tourist place we were told. They forgot to tell us that the tourists were mostly Brazilians and nobody speaks English there. Oh well, we always find a way to make ourselves understood. It´s a small, pretty town, apparently with lots of beautiful beaches, which we of course didn´t get to see as we don´t speak Portuguese (we´re learning muito obrigada). So we went to the closest beach, which was all right I guess, not too many people so Kaja thought she would sunbathe topless. The result: never again. Her learning curve is slowly inclining thank you very much.We only stayed in P.S. for 4 nights and another day we went to a water park which was kind of awesome. We did a rope slide kind of thing where you end up in the water and Kaja had to sit down for a while, waiting for her legs to stop shaking. With her being scared of heights we´re still wondering how the skydiving is going to go. She´s still insisting on doing it but we´ll see.For two days it rained and so we went to Itacaré, which, up till now, has been by far the most beautiful place. Very colourful and lots of INTERNATIONAL tourists (who we like a lot). We went out both nights and were met by Norwegian speaking people everywhere. Way to go to impress us girlies. We even met a guy who lived in Stavanger for a year and played for different football teams, among them Viking jr. Pretty cool. Kaja invited him to stay at her place in Norway. Just so you know mama:)Other than that we went out, met some Canadians, some swedes, danced forro and drank caipirinhas. Isn´t life just wonderful? We didn´t want to leave Itacaré and we´re definitely bringing all of our friends there whenever we got time and the money to do so, but we´d heard of a place called Morro de Sao Paulo where EVERYONE told us we had to go. It´s kind of a peninsula I think, with streets covered with sand all the way. Wheel barrows work as taxis and we stayed near the most beautiful beach we´ve ever seen. It´s a shame we had to leave after just a couple of days there but we needed to prepare for the carnival! In Morro we stayed in an appartment with the Swedes we met in Itacaré, we went out to this place where they played Brazilian music, and with us not being big fans of this type of musis, we figured that at 3.30 in the morning it was time to go home. After 5 hours of travelling a distance which should take about 2 hours, we finally made it to Salvador and is now safe and sound in our awesome hostel with a balcony that faces the street and a 4 bed room to ourselves. We´re ready for the carnival!
