The Russian flat living experience is very interesting because it's so different from what most people experience in the U.S. Perhaps it is different in more urban areas, but where I'm from in the Midwest, apartments really aren't an ideal place to live. Here in Moscow, however, everyone lives in an apartment. I mean literally everyone. David and I haven't seen any houses at all in the city. Many people also have a dacha, or country house outside of Moscow where they go often in the summer. I found a statistic that 1/3 of Muscovites have dachas. In contrast, in the U.S., most people live in houses in the city and having a cabin or home in the country is a real luxury.

mary curran Interesting fact that Moscovites live in apartments but have dachas in the country. I enjoyed the pictures of your home. Too bad the closet doesn't quite work out. But you have a wonderful view!
