We have Internet service in our apartment now, which has made things quite a bit easier. We now have the ability to use Google Translate whenever we would like, and also to look up locations of various places in Moscow. Additionally, we can be more connected to people back home through venues such as Facebook, blogs, Skype, etc.
We have done some sight-seeing around Moscow and hope to do more soon. Two weekends ago we did a little exploring in the Arbat Street area, a place where there used to be a lot of artists and a bohemian vibe. Now it's pretty touristy, but still a nice place to visit in Moscow. There was a cool graffiti wall there dedicated to a Russian band or musician (of course which most Americans haven't heard of). We also saw the mansion home of the U.S. ambassador, although it was difficult to see through the trees! We couldn't even get decent pictures of it.
This past weekend David and I had to do more shopping on Saturday and also wait for our toilet to be fixed. When we first moved in, it was actually not attached to the floor at all. It would move around when you were on it, which was quite strange! Now it is much better. On Saturday evening we met up with Kara, another American who works with David. The three of us found a nice place to eat in Gorky Park and we got to look around that area for a bit.
Today is Monday and I have work later on. Most of my teaching is done in the evenings because my students have school (teens) or work (adults) during the day. I taught my first adult class last week and it was great! There are benefits to both teen and adult students, but I enjoyed the contrast of mellow adults after active teenagers.

Mary Curran Loved hearing about your travels! How nice to have google translate. Would like to see the u.s.ambassador's mansion. Arbat Street sounds interesting with graffiti and all. Happy to hear you had a nice evening in Gorky Park with friend Kara and David.
