Still raining hard with severe weather warnings being broadcast for this area. 95% of the people are packing up and leaving (probably have to go back to work tomorrow).
After a while the sun started peaking through the clouds, we were keen and organised for a hike so took off to go on a 11km trek to Beehive Point in the hills (Morton NP).
Very beautiful walk with huge moss covered boulders and tropical ferns. Set up our picnic lunch on a rock ledge overlooking Kangaroo river- very romantic!
'Hard going' on the way back thanks to the mud, constant uphill walk and the intermittent rain.
We also had a run in with a big black snake that angrily hissed at us and quickly slithered off (this got the heart pumping!).
Felt glad to have this walk over, and finished off the day with a nice hot feed of Vegetable curry and dumplings!
Highlight today: picnic on the rocks!
