Packed up camp again and travelled to 'The Dish' which is an observatory for radio waves. The dish itself was built in 1961 and spans 64mtrs, weights in at 10,000kg (1000 tonnes).
Then we headed further north and had a quick visit to the open cut mine in Peak Hill.
Interestingly, the reason it is cut multi level is not because it's roads, but so that it doesn't collapse into itself!
Continued on to Dubbo which had a massive flood in December 2010 and was still in the midst of repair.
Staying 15km out of town in a reserve next to a river. Lots of campervans and caravans, good for getting some information about our next stop!!
Cycled 11km into Dubbo to get some beers, unfortunately we then had to cycle 11km back. The beer tasted even better when we got back to the camp site!
Highlight today: The Dish and the open cut mine.
