Paris 2007
hello. I missed a few days so let me catch you up.
Thursday: Went to school and found out that people got to go to a couture fashion show in Paris no less...but our class didnt get to go. it was a bummer but my teacher tried. This 30 year old student in our class practically threw a tantrum about it. shes a psycho...grow up y dont ya.
At night we went to this creperie which was really good on an entire street of creperies. it was good. It was great actually because they played Lolita by Prince....love them!!!! then went to a Jazz club which was amazing it was a tribute to Ray Charles. They had french accents but it was good. I got a free cocktail with it and it was really gross...figure you could mask the disgusting taste of liquer in such a pretty glass...but no.
Also, when we were on the train, there was this really scary french baby. He had big eyes and a unibrow and stared at us so intensely and looked scared. he was so scary but u couldnt stop looking at him and laughing because it was hilarious but half nervous laughter. The baby literally saw into my soul...In paris people apparently throw their babys at you....well not exactly...they pretend to drop fake babies so you go to catch them and then they mug you. Crazy french, anyways if that baby was thrown at me i would cry. I still have nightmares. haha
Friday: Field trip to see the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit at the Textiles museum (part of the Louvre). It was amazing. Gaultier is a nutbag but a genius and a lot of thought went into all his work. Then we shopped the rest of the day which was really fun, but my feet hurt and i was exhausted. At night we went to the Eiffel Tower. It is lit up at night but every hour on the hour it sparkles for 5 minutes. It was really beautiful. I haven't gone up yet but it was gorgeous to look at.
Saturday: I saw the Notre Dame Cathedral. We walked all the way to the top. It was a long walk but worth it. The view from it was beautiful and the gargoyles were my favorite. They are weird. No one gets why i like them so much but seriously they are too cool. I like the one that is eating a small animal. After that we walked around a little more and went shopping again. Then at night we went to this club, It was a latin club so the music was really fun it was a mix from latin music to hiphop and pop. It was 5 floors and the atmosphere was very fun. There were a couple creepy french men that wouldnt leave me alone even when i turned around and said noooooooo. haha apparently no doesnt mean no in france...then this other guy and his friend were like welcome to Paris...and he saved us from the creepy little french man. Then when other creepers came by the guy and his friend kept them away from us. They were nice.
Today: Today we went to Chartes Cathedral which is one of the oldest medieval cathedral i guess....i was pretty too. but i loved the little town all the tiny cobblestone streets and the little shops. A lot wasnt open because it was sunday but it was still fun to walk around. O ya the cathedral also carried Marys birthing clothes....lovely.
Alright, after a busy weekend...i'm goin to start my homework. holla at me. ~JB
