Well, I've now reached the North Island and am staying with one of my friends from school called Hannah. Its so nice to be in a double bed in my own room and able to get lots of sleep! I'm being very well looked after!!
I got to Wellington on Tuesday by train and then boat from Christchurch and it was a long day. I left my hostel at 6am and arrived in Wellington at 4.30pm. The scenery was once again amazing on the way through - New Zealand is just one amazing view! I did almost get blown overboard thoough - there is a reason they call Wellington the Windy City.
Yesterday I did some sightseeing around Wellington. I took a wander around the streets and it seems like a really fun city. They are gearing up for their annual Wellington Rugby Sevens Tournament so there is a great atmosphere. I also went to the National Museum of New Zealand or 'Te Papa' as its known and that was excellent. They have an earthquake exhibition with an earthquake house that you can stand in while the building shakes around you. Apparently New Zealand has 15,000 earthquakes a year and there have already been 3 big-ish ones in January - luckily I didn't feel them but its quite a scary thought!
Today I'm going to do some more sight-seeing, plus some shopping (I'm getting so fed up with my clothes!) before I jump on the Magic Bus again tomorrow and begin my tour od the North Island in Napier.
Hope you have all survived the snow and life is getting back to normal again!!
Lots of Love
xx
