Freda made us a reservation for a estuary boat tour. We thought that it would be a good time tp get away from the beach, away from the wind. We had to leave early and so it was a rushed morning of breakfast and Eva refused to eat. We, David and I were so mad at her for being stubborn. Well, we rushed to meet up with our tour where they were meeting at a gas station, where we would caravan from there. We were late as it was, but fortunately they waited for us. Well, just as we stopped and met up with the group, Eva through up everywhere. Poor thing, no wonder she didn't want to eat. Needless to say, it was a mess and of course we had no change of clothes and nothing to clean it up with so David gave up his t-shirt (thus him shirtless in all of the boat tour pictures). We rode about ½ hour through the sugar cane fields and neighborhoods out to a restaurant where we stopped and used the bathroom and I was able to wash the barf out of Eva's dress (which explains her being in her underwear during the boat ride). We finally made it to the boat. Our guides, Luis and Tomato were really great. We cruised around the river checking for wildlife and it was EVERYWHERE. We saw, iguanas, bats, crocodiles, white faced monkey's, howler monkeys, many species of birds, turtles. It was fantastic. Eva even got to feed a monkey some banana! The boat tour lasted about 90 minutes and then from there, we caravanned back to the restaurant where we were fed a traditional Costa Rican meal of rice, beans, chicken, beef, fried cheese, fried plantains, salad with tomatoes and cilantro, pineapple-passion fruit juice and David even got his coffee and Eva ice cream for dessert. Then we took the hour drive home.
When we got home Margo ventured out with the car out to Playa Conchal where she found calm, tropical white sand beaches with clear blue water.
David went surfing and Eva and I stayed back and swam and then Eva played with her marble maze and I enjoyed some quiet moments. Then David came back from the beach and the 3 of headed back down to the beach for a nice evening walk. It was warm, the wind was really mild and we just enjoyed about 2 hours of nothing but peacefulness. Fantastico.
