Today we adventured to Tamarindo, the bigger town in this part of Costa Rica. As the crow flies it is about 5 minutes, but by car, it was about ½ hour. It is a surf town with lots of hotels, surf shops and sourvenir shops. We parked and walked around and shopped. Eva got a fresh coconut to sip from. We stopped for lunch at a restaurant where we sat right on the sand. Margo and I had the most delicious whole red snapped, I had the tail and Margo had the head. Eva thought that it was really cool that she could play in the sand right at our table. After lunch we shopped some more. Margo bought a cool, handmade, one-of-a-kind swimsuit. We got David and coffee and Eva a frozen yogurt and then we headed back to the house. David headed out for a swim and Margo, Eva and I swam and hung out. Then, that evening, we headed to the black sand beach. We had to drive the car to the very end of the road and then walk into the trees, up a trail and down into an amazing, truly black-sand beach. The shell collecting was amazing as was the hermit crab watching. We walked around and explored until the sun set and then we headed back home. Margo made the most delicious rice, beans and chicken wings and fresh salsa and chips. Que bueno!
