Hola!
Just back from sandboarding! Was great! Got the taxi along the Cusco road a little way up in the mountains adn then walked for 10km from there, was difficult as it was so warm, 38 degrees or something! Then had to walk another hour and a half up the sand dune itself, was so tiring and we were exhausted by the time we got to the top! Was me, Mike 8an Irish guy at the hostel) and Abbond, one of the hostel owners who does the tour. Cerro Blanco is possibly the highest sand dune in the world at 2080 metres approximately, we started climbing at about 1000 metres. Was easy on the little slopes we tried first, well after we got the hang of it, but you have to put wax on the board to make it faster or it just doesnt move really! And going down huge slopes of about 35 degree angles it´s easy to lose control and fall over! Got a couple of videos on my camera! Took about an hour to come down the dune as it´s so high! Walked the last part to the road in the dark and the taxi picked us up! Took about 7 hours in total!
Now I´m going to get the bus to Arequipa in about an hour and a half and will probably fall asleep easily! My legs are sore too from crouching on the board going downhill!
Anyway, I´ll write later!
