Hola!
Just realised how little I eat here! Didnt have breakfast as I was getting the bus this morning managed about a quarter of my lunch and that was at about 4pm, so probably wont have dinner! Though I bought a bunch of platanos (bananas) so could have some fruit later! Just not hungry! And no Fiona I don´t really miss wispas out here, haven´t had any chocolate since I left, dont feel like it either! Will probably have lots when I´m home though!
Arrived in Nazca this afternoon, got the bus at 7am from Lima, was drizzling in Lima today, that´s the only rain so far on this trip, pretty sure it must be acid or something tho with all that pollution there! The journey was ok, no problems (yesterday I was 2 hours late to Lima because of a truck turned over on the road). Strange thing was the bus was at least half full with tourists, normally it´s just me or perhaps one or two others!
Couldn´t see much of the Nazca lines when we went past on the bus, but tommorrow I´m going to fly over them, cant wait! Should be fun! Probably tommorrow I will go on a tour aroung the Nazca cemetary and see the planetarium which tries to explain some possibilities for the lines.
Had a look round Nazca, not much to it, some nice souveneir shops and restaurants, people seem friendly enough. Not that many tourists wandering around though!
I want to try sandboarding on the dunes, but on my own it´s really expensive, hoping some other people might want to do it and then it´ll be more affordable! Only staying til Sunday night though. Going to get the night bus to Arequipa. It´s at 2000 plus metres, so a good chance of getting soroche (altitude sickness)! I´ve been told that when I get there I should drink lots of Matte de Coca, a tea made from Coca leaves (where cocaine comes from) as it helps the soroche! Already tried the tea in Huanchaco so I think I might just do that! Dont want to feel rubbish! Not after I just got over my dodgy stomach, probably the change in food!
Anyway, hope you´re all talking care and I´ll let you know how the flight over the lines goes tommorrow!
