This weekend I went with 4 friends to Granada in the south of Spain to visit one of my friend's girlfriend. First of all, we stayed in the most bizarre location - on top of a mountain in hippie-central. Our hostel owner was a 27 year old man from Wisconsin who literally spent the weekend smoking in the lobby. We were clearly out of place in the area we were staying in...but at least it was interesting! Anyway, we spent most of our time in the center of the city. The most important thing in Granada is La Alhambra, a Muslim palace and fortress overlooking the city. We had such a great time running around the grounds and exploring. The best part about Granada is the tapas! In Madrid, tapas are typically bread and ham that you receive when you order a drink. In Granada, we ordered 2-euro beers and got a huge plate of hamburgers!! Pretty much you order a small drink and get an entire meal for free!! Such a great idea.
Now I am back in Madrid and it is Birthday Week! Then, this weekend is my last weekend in Madrid, because next Thursday I leave for a 12 day trip of France and Italy, and I get back 2 days before finals!! The time is going by soo fast!! I really do wish I could fly home real quick for a good Thanksgivin dinner though!!
I miss you all!! Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!!!
