This weekend I went to Prague to visit my friend Tim for his birthday!! After taking back-to-back midterms, I still had to travel for 9 hours in order to reach The Czech because of taking public transportation and my layover. As soon as I got to Prague, Tim brought me to a club where we stayed out until 6 am! Needless to say I was exhausted by the end of the night!!
On Saturday, I got to experience all of the important places in Prague. It was so difficult to use the Czech krowns. 100 krowns = 6 US Dollars. So my lunch was 230 crowns, a soda was 23 krowns.....I couln't even understand how to use the money because it looked like monopoly money so I put my friend Tim in charge of my wallet! Also, the Czech language is soo different. And the people don't like when other people talk on the bus or metro. It was a veryy different experience.
Anyway, the entire city is soo old and very beautiful. It was freezing though - it was 85 degrees in Madrid when I left and 36 when I got to Prague! Friday night Tim and I did a pub crawl, which was so much fun! On Saturday, we were so excited to go to the Prague Zoo, which is apparently one of the best in the world. But when we were there we literally saw no animals. We saw tons of birds, a petting zoo, and two types of monkeys. Other than that, all of the animals were hiding!!! Just my luck.
Saturday night was another crazy night - we went to a blacklight UV paint party and we all had to wear white! It was also Tim's birthday and it was such a great night!
It was such an amazing weekend and seeing friends from home was just what I needed. But after travelling for another 10 hours yesterday, and getting an ear infection on the plane, I am very happy to be back in Madrid and the slightly warmer weather! Next weekend - Portugal!!!
