Last weekend, I went to Portugal with an organized group of American students from Madrid. We left at midnight on thursday (ugh!) and arrived in the southern Portugal town of Lagos on Friday morning. We went on a booze cruise around the caverns on the coast of Portugal. It was so beautiful and so much fun, but I couldn't go in the water because I had an ear infection.

Saturday we went to Lisbon and I think it is my new favorite city in the world! It is not at all what I expected. It is on the water and the beaches are so pretty. We went to a castle at the highest point in the city - the view of all of the old red roofs against the ocean was gorgeous. We saw a whole bunch of monuments and cathedrals as we walked around the city. At night, we went to the famous Barrio Alto bar district. Overall, the trip was so much fun and I made so many new friends. I would definitely go back to Portugal again if I could!!
