Krabi
The weather has taken a turn for the worse-out of 4 days in Krabi, 3 have been cloudy and rainy!! Not what it's supposed to be like down here! Despite the English style weather Krabi is a lovely place.
We stayed in a hostel with...wait for it....HOT showers and DUVETS!! We were so happy! Other perks included a power socket and reading lamp each as well as free shampoo and conditioner-score!!
It was nice to be somewhere a little off the beaten track where food and drink managed to stay at Thai and not tourist prices- the night market offered amazingly cheap weird but mostly wonderful delicacies. We also found a cocktail bar which had all night happy hour and served delicious tasting Maitais for £1.50! We were giggly every night after only two!
The first day we took a bus and then a longboat to Railay Beach, a spectacular island with sheer limestone cliffs and beaches with the softest sand I've ever felt! We came across wild monkeys, caves and amazing scenery- overhanging rock formations full of hidden crevices. I'm torn between this or the island off Koh Tao being my favourite place!
The other days were slightly spoilt by the rain...i read a lot of books and did some well needed life admin in between fruit shakes and games of cards.
Off to Phi Phi now and then Phuket before heading home :).
Ps. An earthquake hit the border of northern thailand Thursday evening...luckily nothing was felt down south :).
