Hey Guys Happy Christmas hope all the shoppings done, food bought and loads of partying still going on, we are in Dunedin at the moment having a good time walked around the whole city it seams, and have done loads of the attractions, the streets are so busy as you can imagine.
We've done loads in the last week since being in Wanaka, did a quick drive thought Queenstown coz we knew we'd go back for Christmas, it looks well cool and full of fellow travellers, managed to visit the first bungy site to which was pretty cool and watched a mad video on what some people do. Visited some funny little towns around one being Arrowtown, reminded us of some french market town loads of little shops, cobbled streets and a cool shop full of the good old sweets (even had the candy that pops on your tongue). Then we started heading down to Te Anau to do the Milford Sounds, its a long drive so we stopped half way down and stayed in a DOC campsite (cheap conservation campsites with no facilities apart from one long drop toilet) (YUK) over night where we somehow manage to blag there was only one of us again (Nat hiding under the covers once again). Jay is loving the wilderness lifestyle especially washing in the river first thing in the morning Nice and cold. The Milford Sounds boat trip was cool you cruise around all these massive towering cliffs and see waterfalls everywhere and loads of seals on the rocks.
Drove down to Invercargill seen around the town and beaches there and even managed to get stuck in the one when Jay thought it would be a good idea to do a little bit of 4x4ing lets just say 10 minutes later were still there and the locals we're pissing themselves. We've done the South Coast visited the southern most point and braved the cold weather which we were not expecting, Shorts, tee-shirts and flip flops don't do much when its only 10 Degress and blowing a gale.
Dunedin has been pretty cold to the last few days but its ment to be sound for Christmas. Yesterday we visited the Chocolate factory and got some free-bees which was good but the best bit of the day has got to be the brewery tour, the guide was well funny it wasn't as boring learning about beer as Nat thought and learning we got a free bar at the end was quality. We had about 20 mins to sample as much as we wanted, but with Nat chatting away to the guide 20 mins soon turned into 30 lets just say once the fresh air hit us................You can guess the rest. Not your average Friday nite but we decided to go and wait on the beach for a group of Blue Penguins we'd been told about that return every nite, we thought we'd be the only ones but turned out to be about 20 of us waiting. Then at about 10 o clock up popped the first 6 waddling to their nests, amazing to see and they came up so close all in all there was about 100 that returned. You not ment to take pictures of them coz the flashes annoy them and can blind them but Jay gave it a quick go and we got a cute picture of 6 of them, don't worry there is still 94 left that can see.........
Hope everyone has a Brilliant Christmas and all the best for the New Year remember not to eat and drink to much. Love Jay and Nat x x
