It seems like its been a month since I've actually had time to write a blog or write any serious emails. I guess I have been spending my free time doing things other than on the computer... Mainly sleeping cus I don't get enough of that at night. Thanks heaps to all the blog msgs and emails people are sending really appreciate it. It sucks that my football teams aren't doing particluarly well, maybe cus Im not yelling at them through the tv. Got to watch the boomers play the US the other night though and they did really well. Pat Mills was unreal! It was cool to see guys that I had refereed a few months ago playing against the likes of Kobe Bryant and Lebron James. I feel a little bit connected to them, its a cool feeling.
I guess stacks has probably been going on at camp, but because days feel like weeks its impossible to document it all.
Colour war broke last week... The break is supposed to be a big thing, there was a lot of hype about it. But I must say I was a little disapointed. It was red robots and the blue aliens. It broke at the end of the play, with a video and then two people in costumes came in and stuff. The costumes were ridiculously good, but otherwise a little disapointing. Colour war wasn't as exciting as it was made out to be. Maybe becuase my life didn't cahange too much, still just hung out at the pool. And hung out at the pool for longer periods of time. But red won, I was on blue... but don't care either way.
The most exciting thing about this week was probably the Stoner and Jo wedding. The junior counsellors planed it for about a week and no one else really had any idea. Im not in the juniors but played a pivitol role as a groomsman. This is a long story but here is how it went down. Every Sunday night there is a staff raffle and we set it up with one of the bosses Kenny to give out one last prize, a mystery box. In the box was a ring. Of course the winner was Jo and when she went up to recieve her prize Stoner came out of the kitchen doors. Got down on one knee and proposed. It was really cool. Jo said yes and that sent all the boys crazy. Jo just thought that was the end of it, but we had a whole wedding planed and it relied on her saying yes. So all the boys involved got up grabbed a birdesmade each (they had no idea) took everyone to the back and we all got ready. Someone took over the mike and said that we werehaving a small ceremony and they could stay or leave whatever. Everyone stayed cus they were intrigued , we thought that a lot of the senior counsellors would just leave. We had some music and everyone walked down the aisle. Jo was brought down by the boss of the camp. We had a ryhming reverened, everythin he said ryhmed (hilarious). We even filmed it and had official photographers and a ring bearer. Following the ceremony that included vows that were writed from song lyrics and an appropriate side hug at the end. Then we all formed a tunnel of love out the door and they ran outside to an awaiting gator with a just married sign and cans attached. Also there was a guitarist playing live music. They jumped on and drove all the way around camp. Everyone else went to the canteen for the reception. We had already set up food and drinks and when the bride and groom came back everyone said speeches that were made up by the junior wolves. Including the father of the bride. Then we all danced. It was an amazing set up and it just got worse and worse for poor jo. She kept telling me she would kill me and i just kept replying saying you shouldn't have said yes. They then got their honeymoon the next days cus it was offdays!
Sorry that was so long. Off days were monday night to wednesday night. About 15 of us went to New Jersey and stayed in a hotel in the middle of nowhere. CUs we were driving in a big group it took us forever to leabe and forever for peopl to make decisions, it became a very frustrating aspect of the trip, constantly waiting for people. We got there around 10, got some beer and got drunk! We even had a toga party in Jaimes honour as it was his birthday earlier that month. The polive came at around... who knows when. This came as a massive surprise as we weren't loud at all. They knocked on all the doors of rooms we were staying in, including stoners who was shaving. They didn't do anything, but i think we were lucky cus there were a lot of underages, but they were fine cus we were international and contained to our room. The next day we slept in and then Sara joined the group at around midday. We all went to a mall for lunch and shopping, it was the same old s*** and got boring very quickly. Then we went back to the hotel kicked a footy drank more beer and pulled an awesome prank call. I called one of the other rooms with my best american accent and convinced them that they had flooded the room below them. I called them several times telling them to do stupid stuff like fill the bath up and then pull the gplug and flush the toilet. One dude had to get out of the shower for them to do it.I convinced them that all the water in the dbuilding was off except their room so we could isolate the leak. And then convinced them that we were going to change their room. Not sure how they fell for it but they never doubted my accent or the gigglin g in hte background. The following day we went to 6 flags, an amusement park. Awesome day! Got there around 12 and stayed till 830. There were heaps of roler coasters, all the same s*** they go upside down and around etc. There were some real cool ones though. The best was the Kingda Ka, its the fastest and highest roller coaster in the world! It was ridiculously good I could have ridden it a thousand times over. Lost my new sunnies on it though. Was spewing! I've realised that sunnies of mine only ever last 2 months, but because I delay so long in buying new ones it feels like they last longer.
Ok this is getting really long, but a few more points. We had visiting day lsat Sunday, it was good. I got a 30 buck tip and half a pizza! Good pizza too, most of the pizza over here is really s***. They're always massive but you never get any decent toppings, its always just cheese.
Ok thats about it. Only one week left, and we have begun planing our post camp life. I fly to chicago on Saturday to hang with Ashley for 5 days. Then off the NY to catch up with the others for JAymes's birthdya and to see John Mayer on the 23rd of August in Connecticut. Any Olympic results will be appreciated. Watched 2 minutes of the openign ceremony, it looked cool!
Peace out!
