Hello to all my people I love and cherish,
I have come to the point where I really realised that I have to come back home. It's crushing my heart and soul. It's so hard. This place has grown into me and leaving it feels like ripping a part off me. So dont be suprised if I feel down when I get back home.
Byron has been the perfect place to live. I have been surfing a lot and have improved, but I still do consider myself as a rookie. Those barrels are just not yet for me. My friends though are better at this sport so I feel priviliged to be able to watch them rip. Like world number 3 longboarder Millsy.. what a great chap and is so at home in the water. Absolutely fantastic!
The Bluesfest came to Byron about a week ago and the whole town got crazily overpopulated with people and cars. Anyhow I think everyone had a great time! I got hot boots from the op shop for 4 dollars, and these boots saved my ass from the mud ans rain that was strongly present throughout the whole festival. I lost my friends in the crowds everyday, but I think that was a strike of luck (again!) because I met so many amazing people with whom I rocked to Ben Harper (disappointment), Missy Higgins, Jason Mraz and my all time favorite John Butler Trio. I think the whole crowd, includin John himself was in tears during his emotional song Peaches & Cream. I dont think its a suprise though.. when 10,000 people sing accapella " All I know is I love you" over and over again. Rates definitely as one of the best gigs in my life. And this was during my birthday night. I couldnt ask for a better present.
Thank you to everyone who remembered me on my 22nd birthday. It means a lot to me.
Im off to enjoy the last bits of Byron Bay and organise my stuff for leaving...
Lots of love,
Apples
