Greetings from the hot and sunny sunshine coast in Queensland! I finally made it out of Byron Bay. Again, it was a tough one to leave. I was supposed to come for a Canoe trip here in Noosa, but it was cancelled because of the floods in the area. I came up anyway to meet up with Mike, a kiwi I met in Byron at the Bluesfest. We were enjoying the sun and surf for five days and I must say it was pretty eventful after all.
We stayed in a sweet holiday apartment in the heart of the rich Noosa Heads, dined out and had drinks in hot spot bars. Everything was easy going and fun for the whole five days. We also hired a surfboard so we could catch some small waves at little cove, just by the point in Noosa. I got a really nice wave that was barrelling a bit again. I've really got into surfing now! Im getting better everyday.
The drama started just the other day when I felt a bit weerie and my ribs were hurting, so as weird as it sounds I wanted to stay on the beach for a little liedown. Mike went for a surf and seemed to enjoy it fully...until I saw him walking back up the beach feeling his head. Man! He collided with another surfer and got a hit on his forehead and at the back of his head. Blood was covering his face and hair - it would have been an AWESOME kodak photo time, but I was shocked and didnt photograph him- so we left for a trip to the hospital after checking the situation with lifeguard first aid. The poor thing got seven stitches all together. Oh well, chicks dig scars, hey?
I couldnt surf the next day, because Id snapped a fin... Im really a master in breaking surfboards nowadays. We didnt have anything to do, because most shops and pubs were closed because of anzac day, so we went to the bar that was open and had dinner and drinks. What a great night! We had heaps of fun and that really was a great end to our little secret trip to Noosa. Mike flew back to Melbourne this morning and Im catching a bus to Airlie beach later this afternoon, or arvo as they say over here. Unfortunately I wont be able to use my prize at all, because Frasier Island trip would take too long, so most probably Id miss my flight from Cairns to Melbourne..and I dont want to do that. Im pretty certain that I'll be back down here soon, so I will go on that frasier safari later.
I miss Byron very much, because I did get settled over there. What makes me happy is that I can always go back and probably I'll see my dear warrior bike (signed by apples) still on the road in Byron Bay. Im off to enjoy the sunshine and small surf (bodysurfing is great fun!) in the rich Noosa. I will catch ya guys later!
