First day is nearly over - except that the Formula One is about to start, so maybe it is too early to sleep...
We watched the F1 qualifying - which we had taped last night - when we got up this morning, then started on our way.
We spent a few hours at the Eliminators car show and swap meet at the Beenleigh showgrounds - if you like cars please have a look at the pictures in the album. There were some really interesting vehicles there and we spent some time with other car people like us.
It was very hot at the show, we left and drove to Val's place, where we are spending tonight. The great thing about a campervan is that you can be in your own place at someone else's place. I like that!
Val hadn't finished his packing, so we went for a walk over to the broadwater and just watched the world go by.
As always, when you go the long way and take the time to look there are some sights to see. Today's highlights were - a helicopter on the back of a truck, a haughty Siamese cat, a resin house number which included some found objects (beautiful) and leftovers from a car accident - have you ever seen what laminated glass looks like after it has been completely shattered?
Tomorrow our journey starts in earnest, with our travelling companions. But first - Formula One.
