The shadows are getting longer. I can't put off the inevitable. We are back on State Route 85 and will soon be home.
Time to start planning the next one!

Our overnight stop was 100km up the road from Cunnamulla, in a tiny town called Wyandra. The road started as quite treeless. There were many emus and kangaroos along the way, as well as sheep …
We arrived in Cunnamulla in the morning, and after a small walk around the turn we went to the "Cunnamulla Fella" centre, where we rode the Artesian Time Tunnel and checked out the museum. It …
The brolgas flew away early in the morning, so we missed out on clearer pictures. We packed up the camp and left Bollon for Cunnamulla. We were heading west along the Balonne Highway. The land…

Your map shows you have hired an amphibian vehicle. What is interest at Tolago Bay? During all my visits to NZ I never got there.
Sounds as if you are motoring on funny roads. wait until you drive Rotorua to Hamilton on Waikato River stretch, it is exciting particularly if river is in flood.

Love your Bathurst travel blog. Your long lost purple Torana brings back so many memories with all the fast miles I did in that beast at Lakeside raceway, Mount Cotton hillclimb, and of course the overnight express delivery from Sydney to Brisbane!

Hi Angela and you lot :)
Great blog, well done and thanks. Don't forget to do the Newnes factory remnants. 10 years ago the storyboard signage was brilliant and one could only stare in wonder at the sheer scale of what once took place their. They used to get kerosine type product and candle wax out of the shale. A little need substance called petroleum was a by product. Try the Bungleboori campsite, do the lost city and if you have clearance take Blackfellows Hand Road (track) down to Newnes.
Cheers, Geoff.

Well done Angela, it will be good to look back on your blog and remember what we did :-)
I was looking at the map and it look more like we were in a Cessna airplane rather than campers going by the straight line it shows, I can assure the folks reading your blog that it was not a straight line at all!!! lol
Merv/dad Have a great trip and holidauy
