Ok so we are leaving tomorrow.
Serious packing time.
Also, Brett waited until today to fix the leaking taps in the bathroom and the kitchen - even though they have been leaking for weeks. That's what you do the day before you leave, right? Naturally it didn't go according to plan. We needed to replace parts, only to find that the parts that need to be replaced are not carried as spares, and we ended up having to do extra trips to Bunnings. Never mind - while we were there we found some "home improvement" items for the campervan which we hadn't been able to find elsewhere.
The ute is all ready - Brett replaced the clutch and even had the interior detailed. The ute's interior that is, not the slide-on. So weird to get into that ute and see clean surfaces. Not like a tradies ute at all now! It even smells good.
I have been busy synching my iPods and phone and copying data on to USB sticks. You know - those things that were never required prior to a holiday in the past, but seem to be indispensible now. I cannot travel without my whole ebook library, apparently!
Still haven't finished culling the clothes. As you can see from the picture, we have a very small space to live in for 3 weeks. A lot of that space is open space not cupboards. We like to travel very, very light, but we haven't done 3 weeks in the van before. Let's face it - Bathurst will probably be very very cold especially at night.
Anyway, no more time for blogging. I have to finish this coffee and look busy! We have a whole 100km to drive tomorrow.
Bathurst still seems a long way away.
