well folks we are in chita after 5 days of hard riding since we left yakustst ita been 2300kms og gravel with little bits of bitumen as the ruskies do their road works .
It was really emoitanal leaving our nord brotherhood mates we were only there for 3 days but they were so hospitable but that is motor biking for you we share a special bond together. Mike and i took 3 days to ride back to tynda in lieu of 2 going up was much easier not as hetic and the weather was kinda no mud just dust from all the trucks. the truckies all give us a hoot as we go by they are our buddies too they all stop and try to talk to us in russian.
At tinda max was waiting for us and said he would ride to chita and lake bykal with us,,,,left Tynda sun morning 150 km to the federal hwy[some hwy all rocks and loose gravel] i got a flat and max crashed at 100km per hour in the loose rocks but he is as hard as nails dusted himself off repaired the bike [bmw r 1150 totally unsuitable for this road ] and lets go . reached Chita last night after 560km of dusty rocky gravel and stayind at a mate of maxs parent in their dacha [sunner house] had a banya last night 3 naked men together ,Mike has no rear brakes disc pads metal to metal my kwaka is going well but the front fairing is all stuck up with cable ties
off to lake baikal tomorrow the largest freshwater lake in the world a fifth of the worlds fresh water then mongolia in about a weeks time no more s***ty roads till we get to mongolia now so ita a bit more relaxing ridden 7000 km so far ,,,we met 2 german guys who rode the north mongolia rd on 1150s weighing 350kg each so should be no probs for us
miss you all heaps but all is going well love to all esp my family and lizzyxxoo
