After over-doing it on Friday, we woke up late Saturday morning (maybe early afternoon, noonish), and got a late start. Decided to leave the apartment a different way which only took us the long way to the same place we've been going out of our neighborhood. Started to drizzle, then rain a little, finally a little more. Dad had the genius idea of getting ponchos instead of umbrellas. Paid 6 euro (about 8-9 dollars) for 2 and they tore as we were removing them from the package. :( Mom tossed hers and I used mine to cover my backpack. Got back to the apartment through the rain, came inside just before the sun came out. Put our clothes on the little terrace to dry and puttered around a bit. It was sunny again within 10 min. after we got back.
After an hour or so we got dressed (re-dressed) and went back out. Wandered north along the River Tiber and then crossed the river, walking along and come across a church (not too hard in Italy), pretty old, we went inside but there was some kind of service going on. Checking out the old stuff, we keep walking up the street and come across a place we'd seen before, on our first tour, the Theater of Marcellus along with the Temple of the Sosian Appollo and the Temple of Bellona. Funny about these locations of ruins, there are modern building built all around them. One even right up against a centuries old building.
We straggled back toward our apartment and before we knew it into a neighborhood, weaved through the alleys and back streets, so cool. Very interesting neighborhood.
Got walking tired after a few miles so we drifted into an alley and found food. We ate, oh heck I forget, I know where, just forgot what, I don't remember. That's right, the appetizer was french fries with cheese and pepper, what came to use was fried potato chips with parmesan and black pepper, very tasty.
