Geneva is a big and fairly modern city and if honest after a few hours of wandering around we were still trying to 'get the place'. Maybe we just walked the wrong way, but nowhere we saw really impressed us despite the lakeside location and distant mountain views. The city just felt large, noisy, built up and lacking charm. Sorry, but other places on this trip just felt better, even those that were closed for the season. The trip across from Lucerne, via Bern, to Geneva however did see us travel on the Starbucks train, one of two running on the Swiss SBB network. The upper deck on the restaurant car offers sit down meals and downstairs is a takeaway counter and a casual seating area. It seems like a good initiative offering a good brew with a good view! This now brings us to the end of our week in Switzerland with us boarding an easyJet flight to Luton on Sunday morning. It has been a great week away, even if a little bit expensive, with some stunning scenery, some great rail trips and we have gone from walking in the snow to needing suncream as temperatures soared in the latter part of the week. It has been a memorable week in Switzerland.
