Tis Monday night and I am sitting writing this with a big smile. Kerry and I spent the weekend (a long weekend) in Scotland. We left Durham on Saturday morning and drove up north avoiding the highways where possible, enjoying the scenery that the quieter roads had to offer. This weekend Heath and I made it down to Oxford to visit Mike, a guy we met at Joeyglide last year. The plan was to do some flying at his club in Bicester, but the lovely English weather put a stop to that. Nevermind. We had a lovely time seeing Oxford instead! Heath and I have just got back from a day out and we had such a great time I thought I'd share! We've had a pretty full on but good weekend - we managed to pack a lot in! This weekend Kerry had her friend Anika come to stay with us before she leaves the UK to head for Panama. Kerry showed Anika the local Durham attractions on saturday morning while i put in a few hours at work, and then we went for a drive to Hamsterley Forest. It is a plantation forest which hosts trees which mature in 10 years approx. It has some really nice walks which we went on (one photo in the gallery). We think we will go back to explore further. Happy Easter everyone! As promised, we've finally got around to taking some pictures of our humble abode. It's not terribly impressive from the outside, especially at the moment as we're waiting for the landlord to organise a load of rubbish to be taken away, but it's home.
