Monday 19th, FIFA 10 arrives in the Peak Leaders household. To say I was confident of being the best would be an understatement, never had to write a letter and had become a fifa fiend in my absence of schooling. I was completely and utterly sure of myself, until now. Gordie went and bloody beat me 5-0 didn't he. I've never been so determined in my life for revenge, a dish best served bitter.
On a more positive note, skiing is once again going swimmingly though Mike has become a big b**** again and gets moody at everything. But that's not really an issue so long as we ski well. Another really exciting piece of news is that we went to the local Wall-mart in the one of the most awful towns I've been to, Squampton (Squamish to some). Despite the lameness of this town, the wall-mart was pretty big and had a lot in it, as I had predicted. The boxing has been going well and we've started doing this training an instructor down at the gym has set for us, though gym has been banned for the past few days for myself so as to improve my fifa performance and regain my honour.
This week has been the Telus Festival in Whistler, which are basically loads of ski and snowboard competitions such as halfpipe and random mogul races. It has been great for the spectator as there's a load of free stuff being given out around town, most importantly Monster energy drinks and Coca Cola. Isn't it just the life out here or WHAT!
In January, when I was last in Whistler with my family, I managed a time of 23 seconds on this racetrack on Blackcomb. My dad managed to get 19 without going round the first few posts so this score was eventually disqualified as his cheating ways had been caught on camera and his time was left at 24 seconds. With un-tuned skis I set off to see what time I could manage on this race track. My first time was on par with my dads cheat time, 19 seconds. The next day I ventured down again. Dad if this is the first time you're reading this you may want to sit down. I got 18.84 and hit all of the gates so actually beat the time you got when you were cheating!! Though this may seem a shallow victory to some as I have been skiing for 8 weeks on the trot it is not and I'm not going to explain myself it should be obvious. Next week I'll try again with tuned skis which will obviously see my current score almost halved.
In other news, as I managed to get my skis tuned for free, I am able to afford to go to the Telus festival ending party which is apparently going to be HUGE (hence the capital letters for emphasis). That is going down tonight and hopefully it will be a hoot.
Rather than give you all a huge essay I'll condense the last part of my blog. The level 2's are next week which is rather scary though I feel I am ready to take the test, I am at one with the force. It seems as though my time in Whistler has gone by so quickly, I'm leaving very soon which is incredibly sad as I've met some great friends out here and I'll obviously miss them a lot but it's also hugely exciting as on the 9th I meet Henchwin and Kemp and we embark on our travels which will bring another element to my ventures as there is no pressure to do anything other than get to the airport on time as compared with getting up at 8 to go skiing 4 days a week!
Anyway people I feel I have quenched your thirst for my news, over and out.
