We have enjoyed a quiet relaxing day today. Whilst the weather remained warm the seas are rough which has allowed us to watch the locals as they scramble to secure boats in the bay, remove deck chairs from the beach & continue to wind down ready to put this town to sleep for the winter months ahead.
Many places close at the end of October, some have already closed. The unseasonal warm weather has apparently been a bonus for the businesses which are still operating.
Talking to Nicola who runs our accommodation the locals have time off or attend other jobs until Easter next year.
The views here are of flowering purple bougainvillea covering verandahs & in our accommodation winding all over the ceiling of the breakfast room.
Lemons grow in abundance on the sides of mountains which are terraced. We experienced the most unusual flavor of limoncello the famous Italian drink. We remain undecided about this having tried it twice.
No ferries today due to the rough weather. Rosita on the front desk assures us they will be sailing Saturday when we leave. The alternative is the bus which neither of us is keen to experience again.
