We have been here in Positano since last Saturday. A little piece of paradise!
Following a nerve racking bus ride along the coastline (but with the breathtaking views as a distraction), we arrived to our accommodation on the rock face in Positano. The views are as the photos show & one could be content to not move from the deck chair on the balcony!
We have relaxed & soaked up the sun, watched the sun rise & set, consumed the best pizza we have found in Italy & explored the coastline from the water by boat.
We spent a day travelling by boat to Amalfi & Ravello which were a couple of the options for places to stay when we were looking before coming away.
We all agreed we had hit the jackpot with beautiful Positano.
To get to our accommodation we have the option of descending 150 steps from the road & to get to the beach a further 200 odd! As you would realize at some point in the quest for food & exploration ascending is required!
A good thing really as the temptation of pizza is constant & some exercise is required to allow clothes to fit!
The days start with breakfast coupled with the view. Following this relaxation in the sun on the deck until the sun leaves the deck mid pm.
This is then a calling for our favourite pizza cafe.
A wander around the town & back to the accommodation.
A stroll in the evening for food.
It has been so difficult to take we have decided to stay a few days extra until this Saturday. We will then head to Rome for 2 nights, followed by 4 nights in Cortona in Tuscany & back to Verona for 3 nights. Estelle will fly to meet us there for a couple of days & then we will fly back to Paris arriving there on the 31st to have 10 days with Stelle before we leave.
Today we went by boat with Liz & Paul to Salerno. After getting off the ferry at Salerno Paul asked a local guy if he knew where the train station was. The response was no comprehenday. So Paul asked him again saying traino, of course he understood & gave us directions. We should have learnt by now just add o to every word! Liz & Paul then boarded a train to Rome for a couple of days before they start their journey home via Dubai.
It was sad to see them go as we have experienced some wonderful places together & they have been great company. We have laughed until we cried at some of the funny moments along the way.
They are looking forward to heading home to see the grandchildren.
Whilst we miss you all at home it is great being close to Stelle & we don't feel ready for home just yet.
