We started the day with a drive to Meekong Delta. Along the way we stopped to try some of the Vietnamese Coffee and look at a Caodaism cathedral which is a religion that is meant to combine all the 6 major religions practiced in Vietnam.
Once at Meekong Delta we went to he Unicorn Island where we had a look at a local village hut, tried some honey tea and some fruit from the island. The tea was very nice which I think was made from Green tea, honey, some pollen and some cumquat juice. The other fruit we tried include: Dragonfruit, Rambutan, Longin and Jackfruit.
On coconut island we saw the locals making lollies from the coconut juices and had a look at the local village. While on the island we had a seafood lunch. The food was very different and for me it was suprisingly nice. I ate elephant earfish wrapped in rice paper with salad, spring rolls, seafood sticks, massive prawns, chicken soup and believe it or not fish fins!
After our island trip we went back to Saigon where we got an awesome traditional Vietnamese massage for 90min for only $15US.
We had more coffee, got slightly lost, had a few beers and Bully must have annoyed the waiter, once again getting his meal a good 15 minuites after everyone else which was pretty much 3 meatless rib bones on a plate. Just to rub it in, the waiter came over after he had finished to ask , "Are you full?"
